Joined Stordy Combustion Engineering limited at 31 years of age working as a commissioning engineer, moved into projects and then managed a number of departments including Sales, IT and Projects. Has since worked in the combustion industry all of his working life ranging employment in varying disciplines as a draughtsman, project engineer, a sales engineer, design engineer and a commissioning / service engineer. Joined David Etchells Furnaces as an electrical and combustion commissioning engineer. Joined Merlin Gerin as a switchboard wireman during a downturn period in the furnace industry. Joined Stordy Combustion Engineering Limited as a commissioning engineer, later moving into sales as the Field Sales Manager.
